Philips new X-tremeVision Pro150 promises to set new standard in “all-round excellence”

Philips is introducing what it believes is potentially a game-changing all-round bulb in the halogen headlamp sector.

Combining striking brightness with the kind of lifespan previously unavailable in such a high-performance bulb, Philips X-tremeVision Pro150 provides the visibility to keep drivers and their loved ones even safer on the road.

Philips original X-TremeVision was the performance-leading halogen bulb for many years, scooping numerous Headlamp of the Year awards and Auto Express’s coveted Car Accessory of the Year honour.

It now boasts +150 per cent performance compared to the industry standard bulb – a figure which was previously class leading, while offering improved longevity and the same durability for which it was justly recognised.

Philips X-tremeVision Pro150 can throw light up to 70 meters further ahead on the road, increasing a driver’s ability to react to potential hazards.

Extending this safety distance means drivers, passengers and other road users can enjoy a safer drive.X-tremeVision Pro150 boasts a lifetime of up to 450 hours, which is one of the longest for such a powerful bulb.

At 3400K temperature, it also has an extremely white beam, compared to the industry standard, which offers better contrast for objects lit up by its beam, helping to reduce fatigue and therefore further enhance safety.

Mark Bülow, EMEA senior product manager at Lumileds – the global licensees of Philips Automotive Lighting products – said: “Advanced filament design provides greater precision and luminance for better illumination of the road, while new Philips diamond precision quartz-glass technology ensures more brightness.”

As with the Quartz glass long-used on Philips Automotive headlamp bulbs, it helps protect the headlamp optic from UV damage, but the new diamond precision quartz also has increased pressure and thermal shock resistance properties.

“This might just be the best all-round Halogen bulb that has yet been manufactured,” enthuses Richard Armstrong from Lumileds.

“The potential it has as an upgrade bulb for so many cars makes it a really exciting new product for us.

“I really think X-tremeVison Pro150 is a winner and can’t wait to get out into the marketplace with it.”

Philips X-tremeVision Pro150 range is available in the most common headlight bulb types H1, H4, H7, H11, HB3, HB4 and HIR2, as well as W5W for position lights.

They succeed the previous, award-winning performance range, X-tremeVision, and X-tremeVision G-force.
