Ring and OSRAM report successful Automechanika Birmingham showcase

Renowned lighting specialists OSRAM and Ring have reported a successful experience at Automechanika Birmingham, held at the NEC. Both brands shared a stand, featuring their product ranges and launching new items.

OSRAM, an original equipment (OE) manufacturer, introduced its entry into the accessories market with new lines of torches, inspection lamps, and solar chargers. Ring launched its ULTRAINFLATE series of tyre inflators. These new additions were displayed alongside existing product ranges, including lighting, battery care, workshop tools, and tyre care. Experts from both companies were present to discuss products, offer advice, and conduct demonstrations.

Beyond their stand, OSRAM and Ring were involved in other show activities. They sponsored the Content Creator Award at the IAAF Garage Awards on 4 June, which recognises automotive content creators. Marvelous Lara won the award, with Louise Baker receiving the Highly Commended honour.

On the third day of the show, Ring’s Bulb Product Manager, Carl Harrison, and Marketing Director, Henry Bisson, hosted a seminar in the Workshop Hub. They discussed issues surrounding poor-quality bulbs in the UK aftermarket, addressing topics such as challenges presented by poor-quality bulbs, advancements in LED and halogen technology, and the future of automotive lighting.

Terri Clark, Marketing Manager at OSRAM, commented on the event: “Automechanika Birmingham was a big one for us this year with so many new product ranges to introduce to the market, which were all well received.”

Henry Bisson, Marketing Director at Ring, added: “We had a fantastic time at Automechanika Birmingham this year, we had new products to launch, as well as hosting a seminar on Thursday around ‘Shining a light on poor bulb quality’, which was well attended.” He noted that the seminar aimed to tackle misunderstandings around dazzling light and educate technicians on discussing the topic with customers.
