Limited spaces are left for technicians to book their free place on Schaeffler’s REPXPERT training in Sheffield which is set to take place on 24 October.
The course covers VAG 1.9 and 2.0 Litre TDi’s, timing belt tensioner setup and best practice to avoid an expensive stud failure.
A timing belt change on a Ford 1.8 TDCi will be covered, showing best practice on the failure-prone system.
The training also covers FEAD, including multi v-belts, OAP and OAD technology, FAG practical demonstrations of the hub 2.1 gen two bearing using the special tools required.
Delegates will also take apart a modern double eccentric tensioner and hear the theory of how they are designed to operate.
A REPXPERT spokesperson said: “This module also includes looking at all the different configurations of timing drive as well as looking at water pump design and thermal management technology.
“It’s free to attend and there’s food and drink on the day.”
