Around 250 employees at the Denby HQ recently celebrated with a party that included a series of TOUGH challenges in recognition of the launch of the limited-edition TOUGH by Swarfega range of products.
Swarfega is still made in Britain, with the new factory only three miles from the original farmhouse that eventually became the front office of a major production line.
Having been based in one location for so long means that Swarfega runs in the blood of some employees, many being the third generation of a family to work for the business.
TOUGH challenges
As part of the celebrations, there were some TOUGH challenges, including the strongman’s favourite, the fairground style High Striker, won by Tomasc Stowinski from the warehouse for being the only person strong enough to ring the bell at the top.
Raising the workplace rivalry stakes, there were also TOUGH tests for male and female employees, with the ‘Toughest Man’ award going to Craig Smith for reportedly completing 98 press ups in one minute.
The ‘Toughest Woman’ award went to Alison Coulthard for her six-minute wall squat.
The Toughest challenge of all was the quiz, won by Stacey Arkwright.
All winners received beer, chocolate and a set of TOUGH by Swarfega products.
