Sykes-Pickavant to bring battery tables, lifting equipment and drink sponsorship to EV Ready garage event

Sykes-Pickavant to bring battery tables, lifting equipment and drink sponsorship to EV Ready garage event

Sykes-Pickavant is to sponsor drinks for visitors to the highly-anticipated EV Ready garage event which is set to be held at Brighton Racecourse on January 25, 2023.

The specialist tooling brand will also be showcasing its range of EV workshop equipment with special show demonstrations of its trailblazing EV battery tables and innovative EV battery lifting frame.

An obvious choice for workshops wishing to tap into the fast-growing EV market, the kit has been developed by Sykes-Pickavant as a quality solution, packed with useful design features.

“Our range of EV equipment gives garages access to the kit they need to specialise in profit-generating EV battery removal, diagnosis and repairs,” explains Dave Noon, national sales manager at Sykes-Pickavant.

“EV workshop equipment is a big investment for any repairer, so it’s important to buy the correct quality equipment first time so you’ll get a good return on the investment.

“Come and take a look at what’s on offer and enjoy a beer on us while you’re here.”

Topping the range of EV battery tables, is an option capable of supporting a 1.5T battery – far surpassing the weight of today’s most-common battery packs which typically come-in at 700kgs.

The principle, Sykes-Pickavant says, is to “future-proof” the equipment for the next generation of bigger – heavier packs which will be coming on LCV and vans, it explains.

Unique features include intuitive operation with ‘rack safety system’ and on the hybrid table the ability to tilt a loaded table to 80 degrees for air bleeding.

For new battery replacement, Sykes-Pickavant has produced a fully adjustable lifting frame for use with an engine crane, enabling technicians to safely lift new battery packs from a crate onto a battery table ready for installation, while minimising the risk of arcing and damage to the battery.

Paul Archer, managing director at Sykes-Pickavant said: “We’re really excited to be exhibiting our growing range EV equipment at EV Ready in January and delighted that visitors will be able to have a drink on us as part of our sponsorship.

“Demand for good quality, problem-solving EV kit has never been higher so we can’t wait to showcase the Sykes-Pickavant range for hybrid and full electric vehicles.”

The inaugural event will welcome garage owners and technicians from across the UK, all eager to draw upon the EV expertise of the aftermarket’s biggest brands and respected experts. Sykes-Pickavant will join around 40 aftermarket exhibitors, each highlighting the aftermarket’s wide range of EV-related parts, equipment and training for independent garages.

A live EV discussion panel during the evening will incorporate leading industry names to offer expertise and guidance for those curious about what opportunities EVs can bring for them.

Tickets for the UK’s first ever independent garage event dedicated to electric vehicle skills equipment and technology are available to pre-book online now – for free until the end of July.

With a limited number of tickets available, garages are advised to book early to guarantee entry. Doors open at Brighton Racecourse at 5.00pm on January 25, 2023.
