The Sykes Pickavant hydraulic wheel puller was recently taken to a well-known bus garage to tackle a stuck wheel on an out-of-service bus.
Sykes Pickavant says that the inner wheel can often prove tricky to remove, as over time dirt and corrosion can seize it to the hub.
The hydraulic wheel puller solves this issue by exerting up to 12 tonnes of force to dislodge stuck wheels.
The manufacturer added that whilst this had proven to be the toughest application to date, the 20880000 managed the pull with no damage to the hub or alloy wheel.
By using this puller, the garage was able to replace the tyre and reuse the previously stuck wheel, putting the decommissioned bus back into service and saving a huge amount of money.
Ideal for fleets and HGV Garages, the 20880000 allows for quick and easy one-man operation thanks to the trolley support included in the kit.
Sykes Pickavant says that time and cost savings are quickly recovered, as the vehicle will spend less time off the road, shorter periods of labour will be required and parts can be reused rather than replaced.
