Wheel lifting range has “solution for every workshop”, Sykes-Pickavant says
The Sykes-Pickavant wheel lifting range.

UK manual handling guidelines state that safe lifting loads should not exceed 16kg for women and 25kg for men, or less, depending on factors including lifting height and distance from the body.

Wheels from larger vehicles such as 4x4s average between 30 – 40kg, with HGV wheels exceeding this, making them unsuitable for manual removal and installation.

The wheel lifting range from Sykes-Pickavant offers a safe solution for supporting wheels whilst mounting and dismounting, taking the strain out of lifting and lowering whilst helping to protect the operator from injury.

Precision wheel fitting is required on many new vehicles that use wheel bolts instead of studs, however this is difficult and unsafe to achieve whilst balancing heavy loads.

Smooth movement is provided whilst taking the weight of the wheel; allowing the operator to easily align it with the bolts when using a wheel lifter from the Sykes-Pickavant range.

The first model to be introduced to the range was the 34196000 Battery Powered Wheel Lifter which supports a maximum capacity of 60kg and a maximum wheel hub height of 1450mm.

Supplied with two 12V batteries, the wheel lifter provides several handling cycles before requiring recharge, as indicated by the integrated LEDs.

Following this, a Heavy Duty Wheel Lifter was introduced, which provides a maximum capacity of 100kg and a maximum wheel hub height of 1790mm, making the 34196500 ideal for use on HGV wheels.

A 35kg manual option has also been introduced, utilising the power of existing battery powered or pneumatic screwdrivers for workshops handling passenger vehicles.

All models feature one handed operation and a special handle shape for easy manoeuvrability, the off-centre frame allows for access to the wheel bolts, providing minimum interference during the mounting / dismounting operation of the wheels.

The trolley’s low centre of gravity offers excellent stability against tipping whilst improving handling, further increasing safety of use.

The lightweight aluminium frame offers increased portability and the lowering brackets feature integrated rollers for easy wheel loading.
