Ciceley Motorsport has unveiled its exciting 2020 plans for its Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship campaign with a new team name, new sponsor and a two-car line-up for the first time.

To be known as Team Carlube Triple R Racing with Cataclean & Mac Tools, this is the first time that Ciceley will have run two cars in the same colours and under the same banner as previous assaults have always been as two separate one-car teams.

Adam Morgan and Dan Rowbottom will drive the two cars as they aim to give Ciceley its best season yet in the BTCC.

Team principal, Russell Morgan said: “It is really exciting and positive to welcome Tetrosyl on board to promote its Carlube Triple R brand.

“Having two cars in the same colours is a first for our team and offers not only double exposure for our sponsors but also increases our chances of scoring points in the teams’ championships.

“By retaining Adam and Dan we have drivers who know the cars and how we operate and along with the work we have done over the winter, I am sure that we will be more competitive than ever.”

Adam Morgan said: “We turned a corner mid-way through 2019 and found a good set up and we are aiming to build on this.

“Steve Farrell, our race engineer, has had some ideas to improve the cars and some of our processes as a team and so we are in good shape for the season ahead.”

Dan Rowbottom said: “Last year was a huge learning curve but it taught me a lot so with the experience and the hard work over the winter to improve the cars, I am confident of a stronger season.

“It’s also very positive to bring Cataclean back as a headline sponsor and for them to join forces with some of the biggest names in the automotive industry.”

Peter Schofield, Tetrosyl group chairman, said: “I am delighted to return the Carlube Triple R brand to BTCC and to team up with Ciceley Motorsport, Cataclean and Mac Tools.

“We are all aware of the benefits that the BTCC brings with huge trackside audiences and massive television coverage and fan appeal so it is the perfect shop window for us.

“I am looking forward to a very successful relationship.”

“Incredible exposure”

Chris Chaplin, international and trade marketing director at Tetrosyl said: “Many of our supply and distribution partners will enjoy VIP hospitality, courtesy of Tetrosyl, within the Team Carlube Triple R Racing branded awning connected to the team’s transporter truck at each and every race during the season.

“The BTCC offers some incredible exposure for the Carlube Triple R brand as well as all the other Tetrosyl products advertised on the car, including the recently launched Car Gods detailing range and of course Quinton Hazell car parts and TJ Filters.

“Our return to the BTCC signals our full commitment to the Carlube Triple R brand and our intention to continue to fully support our loyal distribution partners.”

Carlube Triple R branding

The Carlube Triple R brand has undergone a major facelift in recent months, with the introduction of new specifications, in line with market demands, as well as improvements to the packaging, colour coded bottles and new and easier to read part numbers.

The Carlube brand itself has been phased out and fully superseded with Carlube Triple R.

Additionally, a new Carlube Triple R website has been development which hosts a VRM lookup facility to find the right oil for any vehicle, a technical data library and training content.

The Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship launches at Silverstone on March 17 with the opening rounds at Donington Park on March 28/29.

All raceday action is covered live on ITV4.
