Less than two months left to complete MOT training and assessment, workshops warned

MOT testers have less than two months remaining to complete the current MOT training and assessment, The Test Centre Training has said.

All testers must complete three hours of training, pass the online assessment and upload their results before Friday 31, March 2023.

Failure to do so will result in suspension from testing.

More than 10,500 MOT testers completed their training in January alone.

For those that are yet to pass, The Test Centre Training still has courses available.

Des Hall, centre manager at The Test Centre Training said: “It’s important that testers can apply what they have learnt during their annual training.

“Therefore our one-day refresher course includes the necessary annual assessment supported with a practical session in our purpose-built training workshop.

“A testers routine is practical; therefore we believe training should be.

“During the course our expert trainers will go through this year’s topics supported with a masterclass of the MOT routine.

“Don’t worry if you can’t attend the full day, we also have our half-day session, or you can just purchase the exam from us.”

Testers testing vehicles in both group A and group B, are reminded to study all topics.

They must also train for at least six hours a year (instead of three) and take two annual assessments.

The test, which has an 80 per cent pass mark, is 30 multiple-choice questions and usually takes around one hour.
