Global brake manufacturer TMD Friction has received the Coursecheck Brilliance Badge 2025, recognising its dedication to providing high-quality training to the Independent Aftermarket (IAM) and education sectors.
Coursecheck, established in 2013, analyses course feedback and awards the Brilliance Badge to providers achieving an average rating of 4.9 stars or higher. TMD Friction’s training, delivered under various brands, has met this standard, with over 2,700 reviews averaging 4.9 out of 5 stars. In 2024, the company provided 667 hours of training to 7,837 individuals globally.
TMD Friction offers technical training tailored to specific customer needs, including in-person sessions, digital courses, and technical support. This training addresses industry knowledge gaps regarding new technologies and best practices for brake replacement. The company reported a 12 percent reduction in warranty claims in January, attributed to its training and support initiatives.
Scott Irwin, Head of Technical Training at TMD Friction, stated, “Our team is committed to delivering quality training and a positive learning experience. The Coursecheck Brilliance Badge reflects this commitment. Coursecheck’s platform provides valuable feedback, driving our continuous improvement.”
TMD Friction provides customised training, such as Textar Brake Clinics, which offer in-person sessions focusing on best practices for brake pad and disc replacement. The company also delivers digital training via webinars in multiple languages.
This year, TMD Friction will launch the Textar Virtual Academy, an e-learning platform providing brake training resources and industry updates. 500 professionals were given early access to the platform in January, ahead of its official launch in May.
Irwin added, “Technicians need to stay updated with advancements in brakes. We aim to support both new and experienced professionals in keeping their knowledge current. This training helps to reduce returns by promoting best practices.”
