V-Tech advises on brake testing equipment following DVSA compliance changes

Following a recent DVSA announcement, V-Tech has this week reiterated the importance of compliant brake testing equipment.

MOT stations required to take action include those replacing their brake tester, stations that are changing AE and those who are changing test station details such as company name.

A V-Tech spokesperson said: “Did you know that the DVSA have recently sent out communication to MOT sites informing them of how brake testing equipment must be compliant with the DVSA.

“This means that many MOT workshop’s brake testing units will need to be upgraded with the latest MTS software which allows all of their MOT testing data to be easily transferred directly to the DVSA straight after a test is completed.”

V-Tech upgrades all brake testing units to the latest version to ensure that MOT workshops are connected and compliant.

A software upgrade includes a COVID-safe engineer visit, brake testing unit firmware and software update and an upgrade to the latest version of operating software.

V-Tech offer the full software upgrade for £1,695 + VAT.

Sorry, could someone explain this again, slower and louder please.

So you have these lumps of metal that have sandpaper, like you find in a budge cage, spinning around, when a vehicle is added and brakes applied the forces generated, cause a part or to to ‘strain / move’ (equal and opposite reaction)
To make an analogue needle move.

This requires software and firmware at more than a bag of sand to ‘update’

#snake oil. #money for old rope #any old iron #money makes world go round.
