ZF Aftermarket and Brake Engineering will feature in two upcoming episodes of Car SOS, airing on National Geographic on 8 and 15 May. TV presenter Tim Shaw visited ZF Aftermarket’s Centre of Competence in Nottingham and Brake Engineering’s Centre of Excellence in Wrexham to showcase their remanufacturing expertise.
The Nottingham episode provides insight into ZF Aftermarket’s advanced remanufacturing processes and technological innovation. The facility produces high-performance solutions for various vehicle systems, supporting the automotive aftermarket with cutting-edge technology.
The Wrexham episode, airing on 15 May, explores Brake Engineering’s meticulous remanufacturing of brake calipers. Brake Engineering’s 10-stage process ensures calipers meet or exceed OEM standards, emphasising waste reduction and environmental impact.
Tim Shaw’s involvement with Brake Engineering extends beyond Car SOS. In 2024, he collaborated on a video series demonstrating the caliper remanufacturing process, using Ford Scorpio Cosworth rear brake calipers. These videos highlighted how worn components are rebuilt to match new part performance and durability, reinforcing sustainability and quality.
Remanufacturing is a key focus for ZF Aftermarket and Brake Engineering, reducing waste and carbon emissions. Brake Engineering alone saves 951 tons of CO2 annually through remanufacturing, aligning with ZF’s circular economy goals.
As the industry faces challenges from low-quality imports, ZF Aftermarket and Brake Engineering continue to provide reliable solutions. The Car SOS episodes will highlight their remanufacturing expertise and commitment to quality and sustainability.
Tune in to Car SOS on National Geographic on 8 and 15 May to see ZF Aftermarket and Brake Engineering’s remanufacturing processes.
