Creamfields car park targeted by car cannibals

Five vehicles have been targeted by criminals for their parts after being left in the official Creamfields car park over the weekend.

The vehicles were broken into and stripped of their parts.

Numerous pictures posted on Facebook site Stolen Cars UK show damaged vehicles which had apparently been parked in the official festival car park.

One shows a Land Rover with its bonnet ripped off.

In other photographs an Audi and a Volkswagen Golf appear to have been stripped of their wheels.

Several other images show cars with smashed windows and one vehicle missing its two front seats.

Owners left stranded

Chief Inspector Julie Westgate, from Cheshire Police, said: “Some of those affected were stranded as their cars were un-drivable and had to be towed.

“It’s not just the inconvenience for the victims, it’s the cost of the damage done and their ability to get to work after the bank holiday weekend.

“These reports are being taken seriously and we are investigating a number of lines of enquiry.”

“The suspects must have required a large vehicle to transport them from the site due to the size of the items stolen.

“I’d urge anyone who was in the nearby area, who may have dashcam footage or any information to contact police so that we can find those responsible.”

Creamfields is the biggest dance music festival in the UK.
