Diesel car owners are facing the prospect of significantly higher fuel bills in the upcoming October Budget. The new Labour government is expected to announce a “painful” budget, with many anticipating an increase in fuel duty.
Howard Cox, founder of the FairFuelUK campaign group, warned of potential fuel tax hikes, emphasising that the government may use environmental policies to justify the increase. While fuel duty remained frozen under the previous Conservative government, a Labour government could implement changes that would directly impact diesel drivers.
The potential rise in fuel duty could add over £200 to the annual running costs of diesel cars. This would further burden drivers already facing rising living expenses and could have a significant impact on the affordability of diesel vehicles.

Typical Labour government, guaranteed to screw the public over. First hitting pensioners winter fuel allowance, then this. What’s next? I just wonder Who voted for these clowns?

Typical. It’s only just started going down in price. Now they’re going to hit it again. Time was, diesel used to be 10ppl cheaper than petrol, until most every car is a diesel, then now, it’s the other way around. Makes you sick !
