U-Repair, a service that offers motorists storage space and help with repairs and projects, lets novices hire ramps, use in-house tool kits and even take part in free courses to learn new skills.
Business owner and mechanic of 17 years, Andy Lucas said: “We have facilities, equipment and expert support, all available to hire at very reasonable rates.
“We welcome all car and motorbike enthusiasts, professionals, retired mechanics and mobile mechanics to get in touch if they need some ramp time or practical support.
“In the future we would love to run clubs for young people to support teams restoring cars or similar. The kit car project was just for fun but the end result is so much more.”
Councillor Fred Jackson, Blackpool Council’s cabinet member for urban regeneration, said: “We wish the Lucas family the very best of luck with their business and are so pleased that they have benefited from the Get Started service.”
