A Didcot-based classic car specialist is shifting gears with a strategic expansion. The Figaro Shop, renowned for its expertise in repairing the beloved Nissan Figaro, has secured a £1.66 million funding package from HSBC UK to acquire a new service station in Berkshire.
This move marks a significant shift for the business. Traditionally focused on the Figaro, they will now use the 5,000 sq ft premises to offer general car repairs and tyre fitting to a wider clientele. This includes local residents, Nissan Figaro enthusiasts, and even local council vehicles.
The expansion is expected to generate increased revenue and create new jobs in the local area within the next year. Tobyn Brooks, owner of The Figaro Shop, highlights his passion for creating opportunities: “As a business founded by someone from a disadvantaged background, I am extremely committed to creating jobs and making a positive impact within communities.” He sees the HSBC UK funding as a key driver of this growth, stating: “The automotive industry has been instrumental in my success, and HSBC UK has been an incredible partner in supporting The Figaro Shop with future growth.”
Indika Perera, relationship manager at HSBC UK, echoes this sentiment. “The Figaro Shop’s expansion showcases their commitment to creating exciting career opportunities. We’re pleased to support a business that empowers individuals and shapes futures within the community.”
This acquisition marks a new chapter for The Figaro Shop, allowing them to leverage their expertise while venturing into a broader automotive service market.
