The company behind the brands Febi and Blue Print – Bilstein Group – announced a £35 million investment in a state-of-the art distribution centre at Markham Vale in Chesterfield earlier this year.
The development will create up to 400 new jobs, bring the two brands under one roof and, thanks to a truly impressive warehouse system, will greatly improve customer service.
With building now well-underway, GW took up the opportunity to head over to the Bilstein Group headquarters in Germany for a sneak preview at some of the advanced logistics that will be coming to the UK and to find out more about the group’s brands.
Established in 1840’s Germany, Bilstein Group operates worldwide; manufacturing, marketing and distributing a vast variety of parts for popular makes and models.
In an exclusive interview, Ulrich Wiedemuth of Bilstein Group told GW that the umbrella brand concept was born through market demand.
He said: “We started to move away from metal parts, which we do still manufacturer, to rubber parts and now also electrical parts because we are following the market…”
