New GYS battery tester for EFB stop/start batteries.

The once simple process of testing a vehicle’s battery has been complicated by the advancement in automotive technology with a wide range of batteries now available, including the ever-popular AGM and EFB start/stop battery.

These advancements mean the humble battery tester now has to have the capability to test a multitude of battery types; the traditional battery tester is now obsolete in a modern workshop.

GYS estimates that over 90 per cent of workshops do not have EFB testing capability, and possibly more than half cannot test AGM batteries either.

To meet this requirement, GYS have launched the BT551 DHC, a digital battery tester which is able to test all battery types including AGM & EFB stop/start, lead acid, VRLA, gel and silver/calcium.

The BT551 displays results instantly and comes equipped with a built-in printer.

This built-in printer produces hard copies of the battery tester’s results, perfect for garages to provide visual proof of proposed battery changes or maintenance work to the customer.

Furthermore, the BT551 is able to test deeply discharged batteries down to 1.5V and also conduct a 12V alternator test.

Capable of testing 12V and 24V batteries with a 7-230Ah capacity, the GYS BT551 DHC is an essential piece of equipment for every modern workshop.
