Halfords expands mobile car servicing fleet

Halfords is to expand its home fitting Mobile Expert service in response to growing demand.

Last year the service saw a 94 per cent increase in jobs compared to 2019.

That growth has spurred the fleet expansion from 105 to at least 125 by the end of April and add two new hubs to its network.

Eighty more technicians are also being recruited.

Karl Baker, head of Halfords Mobile Expert, said: “Over the past year there has been a clear shift in people’s attitudes to car maintenance, with more preferring this to be carried out at home or at work rather than visiting a garage or store.

“This will continue to be reinforced as many cars will be sat parked for an extended period as the country lives through the current lockdown.

“By introducing a contact-free fittings and repairs service, we are giving customers the option of still being able to drive when they really need to, while also protecting their safety.

“Our technicians stand ready to reach motorists that want to keep their cars maintained during the period.”

Since November home-based assistance has grown again with an 18 per cent increase in December, Halfords data suggests.

Halfords Mobile Expert vans are equipped to change tyres and batteries, carry out diagnostic checks, change engine oil and filters, top up antifreeze and service windscreens.

Ok, great, good news, why would ANYONE wish to give work to Halfrauds?

    So much for “imi professional”

Local Halfrauds rung up last week, cannot remember what about
But it was something any dim wit could sort out, asked what fault codes they got
Guy said would have to go to other branch 5 miles away!

They seem to kill everything they get their hands on.
