Automechanika Birmingham launches ‘Thirty Under 30’ award

Initiative to recognise young talent in the automotive sector

Automechanika Birmingham launches ‘Thirty Under 30’ award

Automechanika Birmingham has introduced a new awards feature, ‘Thirty Under 30’, to celebrate young professionals making significant contributions to the automotive industry. The award is headline sponsored by Comma and partnered by the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI).

The ‘Thirty Under 30’ award will recognise individuals aged 30 or younger who have demonstrated notable achievements within the automotive sector. This includes professionals in bodyshop roles, technicians, and other key positions driving the industry forward.

An expert judging panel, including representatives from the IMI, Comma, School of Thought, Automechanika Birmingham, and Bodyshop magazine, will assess entries based on passion, track record, career aspirations, forward-thinking, adaptability, resilience, and courage. Judges will also seek applicants shaping the industry and exceeding expectations in their roles.

The final 30 individuals will be celebrated at an awards ceremony during Automechanika Birmingham at the NEC, Birmingham, on June 3rd, 2025. The event is free to attend, and nominees are encouraged to invite colleagues and friends.

Agatha Pounds, Marketing Manager for Messe Frankfurt UK, commented, “We are excited to launch Automechanika Birmingham Thirty Under 30 to celebrate the amazing talent already contributing to the automotive sector and to inspire the next generation. This initiative is an opportunity for young professionals to showcase their hard work, achievements and vision for the future of the industry. We look forward to seeing the nominations and are excited to celebrate these outstanding individuals at Automechanika Birmingham in June 2025.”
