Mission Automotive partners with Automechanika Birmingham’s Motorvate initiative

Automechanika Birmingham has announced a partnership with Mission Automotive, the UK-based Armed Forces engagement initiative delivered by Mission Community. This collaboration will form a key part of Motorvate, the Automotive Careers, Skills and Recruitment feature at Automechanika Birmingham, taking place at the NEC, Birmingham from 3-5 June, 2025.

Mission Community aims to support ex-forces personnel in transitioning to careers within key industries, with the automotive sector being a primary focus. The initiative connects service leavers with opportunities in the automotive industry, facilitating their integration into fulfilling civilian roles. As part of its support for Motorvate, Mission Community will highlight the opportunities, resilience, and reintegration of ex-forces personnel.

A key event will be a high-profile Armed Forces Covenant Signing Ceremony on the afternoon of Wednesday, June 4th, where businesses from across the automotive sector will demonstrate their commitment to employing veterans and service leavers.

James Cameron, CEO of Mission Community, will also speak on the Ignite Arena stage, emphasising the value that ex-forces talent brings to the automotive industry and encouraging more businesses to recruit from this workforce. He expressed delight in partnering with Automechanika Birmingham for the Motorvate initiative, marking over five years of Mission Automotive’s commitment to supporting service leavers in the automotive sector.

Joanne Knowles, Event Director at Messe Frankfurt UK, stated that Motorvate aims to create opportunities for individuals from diverse backgrounds within the automotive industry. She highlighted the importance of the partnership with Mission Community in demonstrating the sector’s readiness to welcome the transferable skills and experience of veterans.
