Motorvate’s Ignite Arena set to inspire at Automechanika Birmingham 2025

With just over a week until Automechanika Birmingham 2025 opens its doors from 3rd to 5th June at the NEC, the automotive industry is anticipating the debut of Motorvate and its Ignite Arena. This new feature zone aims to spotlight careers, skills, and the future direction of the automotive aftermarket, designed to engage a younger audience and celebrate career opportunities within the sector.

Motorvate will bring a festival atmosphere to the exhibition floor, featuring interactive challenges, games, competitions, and prizes. Attendees can participate in professional-grade diagnostic tasks, simulator races against NAPA Racing UK BTCC drivers, technical tests, and hands-on design activities. Exhibitors such as Bosch Training Solutions, Castrol, Autotech Academy, Kwik Fit, and LKQ are involved in delivering skills-led activities that combine learning with entertainment. Prizes range from Apple vouchers and consoles to BTCC tickets, training bursaries, and merchandise.

The Ignite Arena at Motorvate will host a packed schedule of concise talks, discussions, and informal conversations with influential industry figures and brands. Attendees of these sessions will also have the chance to win spot prizes and food vouchers.

On Tuesday 3rd June at 12 pm, Motorvate ambassador Gavin White will host a conversation with NAPA Racing UK drivers Dan Cammish and Dan Rowbottom, joined by Castrol MEM Rally driver Meirion Evans. They will share insights into motorsport, the realities of the lifestyle, and their passion for the trade, followed by a meet and greet opportunity.

TV personality and qualified technician Edd China is confirmed for Tuesday 3rd and Wednesday 4th at 1:30 pm. He will join Headline Sponsor Bosch Training Solutions in the Ignite Arena to discuss his journey into electric vehicle training, offering personal insights into EV technology and industry trends.

James Cameron, CEO and founder of Mission Motorsport, will lead a dedicated session exploring opportunities for the automotive sector to engage with the unique skillsets of service leavers. This will be followed by an Armed Forces Covenant Signing event, where companies will pledge support for veterans and commit to more inclusive career pathways.

Other sessions in the arena include Toyota and Lexus Academy discussing the future of mobility, with a focus on hydrogen fuel cell technology, and Autotech Academy questioning whether “cars are the new smartphone.” Professionals from various roles and backgrounds, including Kwik Fit’s Retail Operations Director Dan Joyce, will share their career journeys and insights.

Mark Field, Chief Executive of the IAAF, commended Automechanika Birmingham for its focus on talent, skills, and workforce development. He highlighted Motorvate as a significant step in showcasing the breadth of careers available and the Ignite Arena for inspiring attendees about future possibilities.

The Ignite Arena will also host the Thirty Under 30 presentations, a new initiative for 2025 celebrating rising stars across the industry.
