Kate suffered a stroke, gave birth 3 days later and is running 5k park run against all odds.

Last year at BEN’s prestigious Ball held at the Grosvenor House in December, Kate Weaver explained the life changing impact the automotive industry charity provided during a personal crisis.

During pregnancy, Kate suffered a stroke and then courageously gave birth three days later while paralysed on her left side.

With BEN’s help and support, specialist equipment was purchased which enabled her to walk again and return to sharing quality time with her family.

Kate will be taking part in a 5k Park Run on May 23 at Quarry Park, Shrewsbury to raise money for BEN and the Dr Gardner’s Charity for Nurses to help BEN fund and support another family facing their own life-changing

Kate said: “I never thought we’d need help like this; we are so grateful that the support was there when we needed it the most.

“They have helped with literally every step and, that has been life-changing for me and my family.  We feel so lucky to have been helped by BEN and say thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”

Bekki Chandler, BEN’s Events Executive said: “It has been a great privilege and honour to be involved with setting up the 5k run for Kate.

“Her dedication and commitment to BEN is phenomenal and it is typical of Kate to always be thinking of how she can help others – she is truly amazing person.
