Event places emphasis on defensive driving, self-protection and roadside emergencies

‘Ladies in Gear’ evening held in Norwich

More than 130 ladies, plus some of their husbands and partners were in attendance at the Norwich event.

Participants in the evening supported by Forté experienced practical demonstrations on basic car maintenance, including safe wheel changing and the use of tyre self-inflators and run-flat tyres.

Attendees also had the opportunity to get ‘hands on’ and have a go themselves.

Paul Hewitt, NMG group sales director and NMG Kia brand manager, acted as the compère for the evening and was supported by the NMG Kia and Suzuki team members.

NMG master technician Adam Richardson led the maintenance demonstrations with Chris Botha and Matt Yeldham, NMG technicians, providing support.

Guest speaker, former police chief inspector and human behaviour specialist Vic Botterill, talked about the causes and symptoms of road rage and stress and how to cope with them.

Andy Williams from Realistic Self Defence gave demonstrations about the importance of women’s self-protection, including personal awareness and self-defence techniques in emergency situations.

Steven Turner of Forté UK gave a presentation on the safe use of engine treatments and the benefits of their use on the car’s engine and fuel economy.
