Liqui Moly talks ‘performance oil change’

With little effort, an oil change can be turned into a special service that not only earns good money, but also makes loyal customers, Liqui Moly explains.

The oil and additive specialist has developed a ‘performance oil change’, consisting of three simple steps.

Firstly, Engine Flush from LIQUI MOLY is added to the old motor oil immediately before the oil change.

It contains highly effective cleaning agents that dissolve deposits and sludge.

The engine is then left running at idle for 10-15 minutes.

A Liqui Moly spokesperson said: “All the dirt that has accumulated over many thousands of miles is then drained together with the used oil.

“The fresh oil is filled into a clean engine, where it can develop its full performance.”

Secondly, high-quality oil is added.

The spokesperson added: “Today motor oil is like a fluid spare part that needs to fit precisely to the engine.

“Pouring in the wrong oil is like installing the wrong replacement part.

“The consequences range from increased wear and tear to problems with the exhaust gas treatment and even major engine damage.

“Such an embarrassing mistake should not happen to any workshop.”

With the Liqui Moly oil guide, technicians can enter the make, model and engine to receive a list of suitable oils.

Finally, Cera Tec is added to the fresh motor oil after the oil change.

The spokesperson added: “This is a wear protection additive by LIQUI MOLY that protects the engine twofold.

“First, chemically, through so-called friction modifiers, which smooth the metal surfaces in the engine and compensate for microscopically small unevennesses.

“And second, physically, because Cera Tec contains tiny ceramic particles, which are protectively deposited on metal surfaces and reduce direct metal-to-metal contact.

“Both technologies reduce friction in the motor.

“This allows the engine to put more power on the road while consuming less fuel.

“Less friction also means less wear. And that means fewer repairs and a longer service life.

“Cera Tec also improves the emergency running properties, so that the engine is protected for a while even in the event of oil loss.

“These three simple steps turn an ordinary standard service into a special treatment which generates additional high-margin turnover and allows the workshop to stand out from competitors.”
