BMW adds heated seat subscription to its online store for UK customers

BMW has launched an online subscription allowing UK customers to turn on heated front seats for £15 per month.

A monthly heated steering wheel subscription costs £10.

Subscriptions have been available for features on BMW cars for some time in the UK.

The features are available through BMW’s ConnectedDrive online store and are activated remotely, with no need to visit a dealer.

The carmaker says the ability to add new features can be helpful for owners who change their minds after purchase and for second-hand owners.

The manufacturer told the BBC that “where heated seats, or any feature available in the ConnectedDrive store have been purchased when a customer vehicle is ordered, no subsequent subscription or payment is necessary”.

  1. How stupid is that. Be someone making aftermarket canbus modules to active all this or somehow to deafeat hard ware hack modules will be epoxy coated adding to weight

Such a waste of resources if next owner decides not to bother
Should have heated front screen as standard for safety reasons
