A ruthless gang responsible for terrorising the West Midlands with robberies and ram-raids has been sentenced to a combined 53 years in prison.
Their crime spree began in January 2020 with the theft of two expensive Audis George Rhodes Garage car dealership in Knypersley. These stolen vehicles became their tools for a string of offences, including robbing a Subway, attempting to steal cash machines, and violently holding up shops.
The gang displayed a disregard for safety, using increasingly destructive methods and even engaging in a high-speed chase with police on the M6 motorway. Their final robbery involved threatening an elderly customer before fleeing with stolen tills.
Police apprehended the gang in June after a pursuit and found evidence of their ATM-ripping methods in their van. Sentences reflected the severity of the crimes, with ringleaders receiving 16-18 years imprisonment. Detective Constable John Marsh of West Midlands Police commended the investigation that brought these criminals to justice.
