Ashwell Motors, a garage that has served the Baltic Triangle community in Liverpool for nearly four decades, faces an uncertain future due to the proposed development of a new Merseyrail station.
The proposed Liverpool Baltic Station, which will be located adjacent to the garage, requires the acquisition of land currently occupied by Ashwell Motors.
Owner Paul Garrett expressed concerns about the potential impact of the development on his business, highlighting the uncertainty and stress it has caused for his employees and the potential disruption to local businesses that rely on their services.
Mr. Garrett has engaged with Liverpool Council and the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority regarding the situation but has yet to find a satisfactory resolution.
The Combined Authority has acknowledged the concerns raised by Mr. Garrett and other local businesses during the public consultation process.
The planning application for the Liverpool Baltic Station is currently under consideration by Liverpool City Council.
The future of Ashwell Motors remains uncertain, with the potential for relocation being a serious consideration if a viable solution cannot be found.
