The director of a Guernsey garage has expressed profound distress after 18 vehicles were vandalised at his premises. Mike Graham, director of GM Motors, based at Thompson Motors in Castel, confirmed the damage occurred between 04:00 BST and 05:00 on Wednesday.
Mr. Graham stated that the incident would have a “massive impact” on his business. He described his reaction upon seeing the extent of the damage: “Obviously when you’re told some of the cars have been damaged, you expect it to be wing mirrors, lights or windscreens. But when I got up here to see the amount of damage that had been done, it was absolutely insane and it proper knocked me out.” Windows were among the widespread damage inflicted on the vehicles.
Guernsey Police have launched an investigation into the vandalism. Authorities are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or was in the area at the time to contact them directly or provide information anonymously via Crimestoppers. The investigation is ongoing as police seek to identify those responsible for the extensive damage.

I had a similar experience involving 15 cars, every windscreen, random headlamps/side windows/door mirrors, but compounded by the vandals nicking the batteries by cutting all the leads with bolt cutters. The police sent a forensics officer to dust for prints/DNA, but they soon lost interest. This was 3 years ago, and l’m still counting the cost. Good luck, Mike – l feel your pain.

Wonder if this was vendetta related.
A lot of car dealers wriggle out of warranty claims, happened to me 2 years ago in Wales, but I went down the legal route.
Vandalism achieves nothing and should be condemned.

Precisely why we pay for insurance.
