A mechanic from Hampshire has won a Porsche 911, valued at £74,000, for just seven pence in a BOTB (Best of the Best) competition. BOTB presenters surprised Tony at his Lenton Lane dealership workplace, presenting him with the keys to the vehicle.
Visibly shocked, Tony’s colleagues applauded as he received his prize. He admitted to entering the competition for enjoyment and never anticipated winning. BOTB presenter Christian Williams showed Tony the car’s features and invited him to start the engine.
Despite his appreciation for the Porsche 911 Turbo, Tony revealed his decision to take the cash alternative of £52,000. He explained that opting for the cash would allow him to invest in a house, adding that he would also treat himself and potentially buy a new pit bike.
BOTB presenter Christian Williams noted the unusual timing of the win, as Tony was working with a blowtorch when they arrived. He understood Tony’s decision to take the cash for a house and a bike, calling it a good trade.
BOTB offers a range of competition prizes, including watches, cash, cars, and holidays, with tickets often starting at a few pence. Current competitions include a chance to win a BMW M4 for five pence and a £685,000 house for 99 pence (closing soon).
