Emergency services in Gloucestershire have urged drivers to check their fluid levels following a car fire which they believe may have started as a result of low coolant.

A stretch of the A435 from Charlton Kings to the A436 at Severn Springs was closed last night after a Land Rover Freelander went up in flames.

The Gloucester Police Special Operations team posted images of the burnt-out car following the blaze.

Officers said the fire “may have started as a result of low coolant levels”.

The Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service then urged drivers to “always check your fluid levels”.

Seems a bit abrupt. If it’s on fire, your unlikely to check the coolant.

Normal to just stuff the head gasket, worsecase new engine as be no compression.

    Bit more information would help

What a load of crap, this is what happens when someone tries talking about something they know nothing about.

So Gloucester Fuz can now forensically determine the cause of a vehicle fire at the road side.
