Porsche has issued a recall affecting thousands of its vehicles, including the 718, 911, and Panamera models, due to a potential issue with the central locking wheel bolts. The company has warned affected owners not to drive their cars until further notice.
The recall is a significant blow to Porsche’s reputation for quality and reliability. Some owners have expressed frustration and anger over the issue, particularly given the high cost of these vehicles.
The problem lies in the design of the central locking wheel bolt, which may not meet the required specifications. This could potentially lead to wheel detachment, posing a serious safety risk.
Porsche is working to replace the affected parts, with the majority of replacements expected to be available by February 2025. But, this recall highlights a growing trend of vehicle recalls in recent years, with manufacturers facing increasing scrutiny over product quality and safety.

Excuse ignorance but what is a central locking wheel bolt. If it’s the locking wheel bolt itself it can be replaced by just fitting a regular bolt from them whilst the problem is being sorted.

All locking wheel bolts/nuts should be banned!!!

They have one large nut in the centre. Difficult to discern whether it’s that or the central hub bolt….
