Greater Manchester Police have arrested seven individuals following the discovery of a suspected chop shop in Oldham.
Officers responding to reports of suspicious activity at a garage in the Newport Street area found two stolen Ford Fiestas and a number of stolen registration plates.
The garage is believed to have been used to dismantle stolen vehicles for the sale of individual parts.
Four men and three women were arrested on suspicion of theft of motor vehicles and remain in police custody for questioning.
Chief Inspector Ian Partington of Oldham’s Neighbourhood team stated that tackling vehicle crime remains a priority for the police. He urged vehicle owners to take preventative measures, such as installing steering locks or wheel clamps, to deter thieves.
The police are urging anyone with information regarding vehicle crime to contact them on 101 or to report anonymously through Crimestoppers.
