A South Yorkshire garage is investing in its future by expanding its services to include electric vehicles (EVs). Treeton Auto Services has relocated to a larger facility with dedicated EV repair bays and is training its staff on EV technology.
The move comes in response to the growing number of electric vehicles on the road and the ban on new petrol and diesel cars from 2030. Founder Dave Geldard recognised the need to adapt to changing consumer needs and ensure the long-term viability of the business.
“We’ve seen high demand for our services, but we know that could change if we don’t adapt,” said Geldard. “This investment will futureproof the business and create new opportunities for our mechanics.”
The expansion includes eight workshop ramps, two dedicated EV bays, and a new MOT testing facility. The company has also secured grant funding to train its staff on EV technology, particularly charging systems and drivetrains.
“There’s a gap in the market for independent garages that service EVs,” said Geldard. “While we’ll continue to support petrol and diesel vehicles, this expansion allows us to serve the growing electric car market.”
Treeton Auto Services was founded in 2008 by Dave Geldard, a former apprentice at TVR and Peugeot master technician. The company has established itself as a reliable service provider and is committed to supporting the next generation of mechanics through apprenticeships and career guidance.
