A routine repair at a Halfords store in Tunbridge Wells led to an unexpected discovery. Staff found a stash of nearly 30 bank and loyalty cards concealed within a car’s fuse box.
Suspecting fraudulent activity, the staff alerted Kent Police. Upon arrival, officers arrested a 34-year-old man from Gillingham on suspicion of fraud by false representation. A subsequent search of a property linked to the suspect yielded additional cards, two mobile phones, and a laptop.
The man has been released on bail pending further investigation. The police are working to determine the full extent of the fraudulent activity associated with the recovered cards.
