Three charged with fraud following collapse of Knutsford car showroom

Three individuals have been charged with fraud offences following an investigation into the collapse of VIP Car Sales in Knutsford.

The investigation was launched in March 2017 after numerous complaints from customers who had lost money when the dealership went into liquidation.

Richard Gleave, Rachel Gleave, and Mark East have been charged with fraudulent trading, contrary to the Companies Act 2006. Richard Gleave has also been charged with one count of theft.

The charges relate to offences that occurred between May 2013 and March 2017 and involve more than 40 victims. The total value of the alleged offences is believed to exceed £1 million.

The three individuals have been released under investigation and are due to appear at Liverpool Magistrates’ Court on February 12th.
