An 83-year-old woman from Wirral has been waiting nearly six months for her car to be repaired at a Honda garage.
Mrs Carter’s Honda Jazz broke down in February while driving to Liverpool. She took the car to Holdcroft Honda in Cheshire Oaks for repairs, expecting a quick turnaround.
However, Mrs Carter faced numerous delays, with the initial repair estimate reaching £4,437.83. Despite paying this amount, she has not received her car back.
The garage has repeatedly failed to meet promised delivery dates, leaving Mrs Carter without transportation and relying on public transport, which is difficult due to her health.
“I’ve reached the end of my tether,” said Mrs Carter. “It’s started to have a real impact on my health, worrying about it.”
The Liverpool ECHO contacted both Holdcroft Honda and Honda’s central UK press office for comment. While Honda confirmed the case is under investigation, Holdcroft Honda declined to provide a statement.

Unfortunately, this is not uncommon. I know of people who’ve been waiting longer than that for other franchises to repair cars under Warranty. Some have resulted in legal actions against the Dealerships.

Shame on both dealership and main dealer, all stops should have been pulled for an elderly lady.

I would like to hear both sides of this story, we have vehicles left by customers with “No Rush” tags they are often happy to wait. We had another where we spent 3 months waiting for a power steering hose for a Vauxhall Vivaro. its not always as cut and dried as it seems.
