The DIGIT, an Angry Jester concept exclusively available from The Parts Alliance, marries a leading connected diagnostic tablet with an innovative communications platform.
As a result, technicians can not only work on a huge range of cars but can also manage the overall process more efficiently too.
This is because job card creation, technical data look-up and an interactive parts catalogue can all be accessed seamlessly from the DIGIT device.
The workshop tablet even supports parts ordering, automates information storage and links to certificated online modular training from ‘Our Virtual Academy’.
“DIGIT brings everything the technician is going to use for the job together and makes it available through one intuitive touch-screen tablet interface,” said Wyn Jones, sales director at Angry Jester.
“It’s a real time-saver and garages have fully embraced the concept.”
The tablet itself features an impressive 1GB memory, 16GB storage and a high resolution 10.1” LCD display.
There’s even five mega pixel and two mega pixel cameras to take photos of parts required, or job progress for record-keeping.
Connectivity to cars is via Bluetooth for maximum flexibility and over Wi-Fi for the internet resources.
OBD adaptors are included too.
Based on the Android operating system, DIGIT claims 95 per cent vehicle coverage and can perform a vast array of functions.
Wyn added: “We’ve also preinstalled applications like Gmail and Dropbox so you can keep customers or suppliers updated and file information as you work.”
DIGIT is ‘lightning fast’ in use and automatically detects and installs updates so technicians are always working with the latest available information.
