Service MOT Repairs, a family-run garage in Northampton, is celebrating a silver medal win in the Apprentice Employer of the Year category at the SME Northamptonshire Business Awards.
Established in 2012, Service MOT Repairs prioritises knowledge, transparency, and family values. This philosophy extends to its apprenticeship program, which was recently recognised for its excellence.
Last year, owner Alex Isherwood took a chance on an 18-year-old with learning difficulties and autism who demonstrated a strong passion for cars. Having completed Levels 1 and 2 in Motor Vehicle Studies, the young man was offered an apprenticeship at the garage.
As a Bosch-approved service and repair centre, Service MOT Repairs provides its apprentices with training through Bosch’s own program. Alex emphasises their dedication to investing in future mechanics: “We are very passionate about developing the mechanics of the future.”
