A limousine was impounded by Northants Police on Sunday while it was taxiing occupants to Silverstone for the Formula 1 Grand Prix.
The vehicle was stopped by officers who suspected it had no MOT, tax or insurance.
The couple in the back of the limo were unaware of the issues and continued their journey with a lift by Northants Police after their taxi had been seized.
Commenting on Twitter, PC Dave Lee said: “Least we could do was get them to the circuit in a bit more style.”
This lovely couple were in the back of this Limo when we stopped it. They were on their way to the #F1 for a Birthday Gift, not realising the driver had no insurance, tax or MOT.
