Network gets high praises from independent garage

Excess of 50 jobs a week received from Servicing Stop, Swanley garage reports

Network gets high praises from independent garage
Swanley Garage Services is one of ten North Kent garages in the Servicing Stop network.

Servicing Stop, a car servicing provider with a network of more than 1,500 garages spread throughout the UK, has received praise from a garage owner in Swanley.

Swanley Garage Services joined the network eight months ago.

At first, they felt a little apprehensive and unsure of what they would gain from doing so, but almost a year later, it’s the best thing that could have happened, according to garage owner Eddie Grigg.

As a result of the extra work coming in, they have purchased a larger premises and ten new cars to meet the demand that collection and delivery of the customer vehicles poses.

Eddie said: “By 8:00, we’ve got at least five Servicing Stop jobs in.

“Straight away we get them up on the lifters, and get the first inspection done.

“Whilst that’s happening, the drivers are out getting the next lot in.

“Then in the afternoon we concentrate on our own customers and the authorised additional work.”

The garage was once also a body paint shop, but Eddie decided to focus on mechanics as it was where they were receiving most bookings.

Eddie said: “We built the garage up through 100 per cent honesty.

“If there’s a problem we make sure the customer leaves happy.

“There’s good reason for this; Swanley is a close knit community, word gets about.

“Not just through gossip, online local forums are quick to name and shame local perpetrators of bad customer service.”

Dragons’ Den

Like many others, Swanley Garage Services first heard of Servicing Stop when they saw company directors Oly and Toby Richmond on Dragons’ Den in 2009.

Eddie and Swanley Garage Services are used as an example within the Servicing Stop system, a case study of how garages can grow just by enrolling in the network.

“I’ve already made some big changes on the back of Servicing Stop,” said Eddie.

“Over the Christmas period, I bought three new ramps.

“In five years time, it would be lovely to have a mechanic on each one of our ramps, and with the work from Servicing stop and my local work, to fill them from the servicing.”

Network recruitment

Servicing Stop is embarking on a recruitment drive nationwide to find the best independent garages and offer them work.

The network only use government approved garages, skilled mechanics and technicians, all of whom have been verified by VOSA.

Servicing Stop CEO and founder Oly Richmond said: “Due to rapidly increasing demand, Servicing Stop is currently looking for new garages to join our network.

“Joining Servicing Stop is completely free.

“We take care of the admin and pay you for the servicing.

“You can take on as little, or as much work as you like.”
