New company aims to help workshops maximise business potential

After 30 years at the “coal face”, most recently at Draper Tools, Chris Bartlett has launched Six Sigma Works to help automotive businesses maximise their opportunities.

“The problem with the automotive industry is that people don’t generally tend to think about your company until they need it.” said Chris.

“So how do you make sure that yours is the first business they find when they start looking?

“Do you have a Facebook page?

“Could you offer a five pound coffee shop voucher to the first ten people who like and share your page?

“We once did this for a client and added 5,000 new subscribers to their page, all now potential customers.”

Chris believes factors can also build relationships with customers and increase sales by looking to sell them additional products and services.

He added: “Could you sell a tyre changer to a garage that doesn’t yet sell tyres?

“Up-sell after you make your first sale to a customer, it is incredibly important to focus on that second purchase.

“Not only do customers come back more frequently after the second purchase, they also tend to spend about 20 per cent more than they did the first time.”

Six Sigma Works believe setting goals to sell relevant add-ons and accessories every time will deliver results, along with point-of-purchase items that customers might pick up on impulse.

“Training sales staff to point out to customers popular or new items could significantly increase sales with only very small changes to their existing approach.”

Six Sigma Works promise a ‘no-nonsense common sense approach’ to sales and marketing training specifically for the automotive industry.
