Delphi looking to support technicians with servicing increasingly complex vehicles

Technical training and diagnostics seminars offered by brand at Automechanika
Delphi Technologies has launched a series of products to support technicians with working on new vehicles.

Delphi Technologies, the global provider of aftermarket solutions, will be helping distributors and garages by showcasing its training and product solutions for next-generation vehicles at this year’s Automechanika Birmingham.

The company will exhibit its latest GDi testing software, OE products and new and improved packaging on its new-look stand – hall 18, stand U140, between 4 and 6 June.

Delphi, a sponsor of the Automechanika Garage of the Year Awards, will also present a technical seminar on hybrid and electric technology and provide on-vehicle pass-thru diagnostic demos.

Amongst the range of innovative solutions will be the Excalibur GDi test bench – the latest addition to its GDi service programme.

Free hybrid and electric training

Visitors to The Big UK Garage Event, will be able to see the company’s new packaging, and receive the free hybrid and electric training and on-vehicle diagnostic demos from Delphi Technologies’ technical experts.

As a sponsor of the Automechanika Garage of the Year awards, it will also present the Outstanding Achievement Award at a separate event on Wednesday 5 June at the National Motorcycle Museum.

Julian Goulding, UK marketing manager, Delphi Technologies aftermarket said: “The growth of new vehicle technologies such as gasoline direct injection and powertrain electrification represents a significant opportunity for the aftermarket, but only for those with the right parts, tools and know-how.

Helping garages with complex tasks

“At this year’s Automechanika, we’ll be demonstrating how we’re helping garages service these increasingly complex, electronically controlled vehicles and take advantage of the high-value business that they generate.”

GDi service programme

Delphi Technologies’ new GDi service program is one example of how the company is using its understanding of the latest vehicle technologies to help its independent aftermarket customers.

With OE parts, diagnostic tools, training, test and cleaning equipment, distributors and garages will be able to take advantage of one of the fastest growing areas of vehicle repair.

Latest diagnostic and test capability

The increasing electronic content will also require new diagnostic and test competencies.

Visitors will be amongst the first to see its new Hartridge Excalibur GDi Master, enabling the testing of GDi and PFi systems in as little as five minutes, alongside its Sabre CRi Expert, an ultra-high-pressure Common Rail injector test machine.

The company will also provide on-vehicle demonstrations of its DS Flash pass-thru device, offering dealer-level diagnostics.

Learning about latest tech

To support technicians understanding of new vehicle technologies, and as part of the Workshop Training Hub, Delphi Technologies will provide a technical talk (11:45 to 12:15, 4 June in the Technical Theatre).

Delphi has said this will provide aftermarket professionals best practice advice on servicing hybrid and electric vehicles, and how, with the support of an OE provider, they can capitalise on this growing market opportunity.

Enhancements to core aftermarket portfolio

The company will also demonstrate how its core aftermarket portfolio is providing technicians with high-quality service parts.

New additions include a full-service solution for steering with all the parts needed for right, first-time fitment in the box, first-to-market brake pads, new OE ignition coils and significant new-to-range sensors including a new line of exhaust gas temperature and diesel exhaust pressure sensors.

Refreshed brand and premium packaging

The show will also provide a platform for the company to present its new aftermarket packaging to the UK market.

Featuring the Delphi Technologies logo and colourways, the new packaging comes in both a wallpaper print and a retail design for products such as brakes, steering and ignition.

A new design, using higher quality materials, will offer better protection during transit and storage, whilst optimising space on the distributor’s shelf.
