Technicians continue to praise Autoinform’s technical training
November's Autoinform event attracted over 400 industry professionals, making it the most successful show to date.

With excitement building ahead of the inaugural Scottish Autoinform event, the Original Equipment Suppliers Aftermarket Association (OESAA) has continued to receive warm praise from the delegates that attended last November’s show in Wolverhampton.

Taking place at GTG Edinburgh, it will be the first Autoinform LIVE event to be held outside of the Midlands, and aims to provide easier access to the wide range of training sessions, seminars and hands-on demonstrations on offer for those technicians based in Scotland and the north of England.

Attendees to last November’s event left encouraging feedback via email or on OESAA’s social pages.

‘Very worthwhile’

William McIlwraith, a college lecturer in Coventry, said: “I currently work in education, so I’m using this as a method of trying to maintain my CPD, and keeping up-to-date with modern technology and vehicles.

“The presentations have been very worthwhile that I’ve attended.”

Nigel Yardley of Yardley’s Garage said: “I particularly enjoyed the management courses by David [Massey], Alistair [Mason] and Andy [Savva] – truly an inspiration.

“If anything can we have more of these so I can include non-workshop staff next year.”

Dean Andrew took to Facebook to tell OESAA: “Excellent, informative weekend.

“I’ve come back to Cornwall with a shopping list and an insight into how to improve our business.”

Training will be provided by some of the industry’s most recognisable figures and organisations, covering of all aspects of garage management.

Split into three groups, the modules on offer are categorised by delegate experience, and subjects covered include ‘preventable failure programmes for diesel engines’, ‘using the web to promote your business’ and ‘electric and hybrid vehicle technology’.

‘Hassle-free training’

Commenting on the success of the previous show, OESAA chairman, Nigel Morgan said: “The feedback we’ve received from attendees is a testimony to the industry-wide demand for hassle-free training events which allow technicians to keep abreast of the latest technology whilst minimising garage downtime.

“The forthcoming Autoinform LIVE will give even more delegates the chance to experience the practical, hands-on training on offer, which is so essential for independent garages to thrive and grow.”
