Tributes paid to recovery vehicle driver in fatal weekend crash
41-year-old Shaun Buckley from Prestatyn in Denbighshire died in the collision.

Tributes are being paid for a driver of a flatbed recovery vehicle who died following a collision with a Nissan Qashqai towing a caravan.

The incident took place on the A548, near Holywell in Flintshire on Saturday morning and the man has now been named as 41-year-old Shaun Buckley from Prestatyn in Denbighshire.

In a tribute to Shaun his family said: “We as a family are truly devastated by the loss of Shaun.

“Truly devastated”

“He was a much loved son, partner, dad, brother and friend.

“Words cannot describe the loss we feel.

“Our heartfelt thanks go out to all the emergency services who fought so hard to save him.

“He will live on in the hearts and memories of all who knew and loved him.

“We ask that we are left in peace as a family to support each other.”

Sergeant Leigh Evans of the roads policing unit, North Wales Police said: “North Wales Police and other emergency services responded to the scene of a road traffic collision involving a Nissan Qashqai, towing a caravan and a flatbed recovery vehicle.

“Despite the best efforts of emergency services, the 41-year-old driver of the flatbed vehicle, who was local to the area, tragically died.”

Police have said that an investigation is now underway to determine the exact circumstances of the collision.

    So sad it just shows how dangerous a job on recovery is even if if Shaun wasn’t at a roadside call out he was still vulnerable doing his job There needs to be more safeguards for this type of work
