Watch: How to check Land Rover LR4 engine oil level with Autologic

Autologic has released a step-by-step guide detailing how to check engine oil levels on Land Rover models via the driver instrument display.

Before undertaking the checks, Autologic recommends that technicians ensure the vehicle has been left for Make sure that the vehicle is left for five minutes from filling with oil, and that the engine oil level is reading at least minimum before starting the engine.

The vehicle should be parked on level ground, the gearshift selector in the park position and the bonnet left open.

Checking Land Rover engine oil level

  1. Using the steering wheel control pad, press the right arrow to open the menu.
  2. Press the down arrow and scroll down to the service menu.
  3. Press the right arrow to enter the service menu.
  4. Press the down arrow and scroll down to the oil level display.
  5. Press ‘OK’ to display the oil level.

According to Autologic, the ‘OK’ level indicates that the oil level is approximately 1.89 litre low.

The ‘minimum’ level indicates that the oil level is approximately 3.7 litres low.

At max level, there is 7.57 litres of oil.
