Integrated brake discs and bearings are increasingly used on many PSA and Renault applications; NTN-SNR is increasing its aftermarket availability.

NTN-SNR, the producer of automotive aftermarket components, has released a guidance video explaining to technicians how they can remove and fit brake discs with integrated (biconical) bearings.

Some vehicles, particularly Renault and PSA, use brake discs with the integrated bearings on the rear axle.

This type of assembly, established by the manufacturer, results in significant weight savings since the disc becomes the wheel hub, according to NTN-SNR.

It is equipped with a phonic wheel or a magnetic encoder (SNR ASB).

This system allegedly makes mounting and disassembly easier.

NTN-SNR has confirmed it offers a range of 33 brake disc kits with integrated bearings and covers 100 per cent of current applications.

The company has reminded garages that it believes it is essential to replace both brake disc hubs at the same time.

It is also better to install new brake pads, according to NTN-SNR.
