The new AdBlue system pressure test kit from Laser Tools provides the gauge and connection pipes required to allow technicians to directly measure the system pressure at the injector (dosing module) or pump.
The kit is supplied with a pressure gauge equipped with pipework and connectors to connect into the SCR system.
Two additional 300mm connection pipes are also supplied fitted with straight and 90° connectors to assist with hook up in restricted areas.
The test kit is then used with the OEM diagnostic software and protocols.
The AdBlue system pressure test kit is available from Laser Tools stockists priced at £102.46 + VAT.
Modern diesel emission systems incorporate technology that is designed to clean up the emissions as the gasses pass through the exhaust system.
One of the most popular systems uses a urea solution, like AdBlue, that is injected in to the exhaust before the catalytic convertor to convert the oxides of nitrogen coming out of the engine in to nitrogen and water.
When these systems fail the engine will initially fall in to “limp mode” and if not corrected, eventually the vehicle OBD system may prevent the vehicle starting.
Part of the diagnostic routine for these SCR (AdBlue injection) systems is to measure the pressure in the system both electronically via the OBD diagnostic software and protocols, and dynamically using pressure test gauges.
