The Independent Automotive Aftermarket Federation (IAAF) launches a new campaign at the UK Garage and Bodyshop Event (5/6 June) to address independent repair shop misconceptions.
The initiative aims to empower both independent garages and motorists by clarifying their rights and freedoms, particularly within the framework of the updated Motor Vehicle Block Exemption Order (MV-BEO).
The IAAF campaign, spanning digital marketing platforms, tackles widespread myths head-on, providing clear and accurate information on topics including:
- Work During Warranty Periods
- Spare Parts
- Use of Tools and Equipment
- Digital Service Records
This myth-busting effort underscores the IAAF’s ongoing “Right to Repair” initiative, championing the independent aftermarket as a competitive choice for motorists.
Mark Field, Chief Executive of IAAF, commented: “Our new campaign is essential in dispelling the misconceptions that hinder the independent aftermarket and will form part of our ongoing ‘Right to Repair’ initiative.
“By providing clear and accurate information, in a format that is easily digestible and accessible for its intended audience, we will champion the rights of the independent aftermarket and the competitive choice for motorists.”
