Banner reports solid sales figures for the 2023/24 financial year (April 1, 2023 – March 31, 2024).
- Sales: 4 million starter and on-board batteries sold
- Turnover: EUR 302 million
While these results fall slightly below the record highs of the previous year, Banner maintains a bullish outlook focused on sustainable growth through innovation in automotive and energy storage solutions.
As Banner’s Commercial CEO, Andreas Bawart states: “Despite the external challenges the group faced in the 2023/24 financial year, in particular the ongoing energy crisis, the war in Ukraine and increased competition from Asian manufacturers, the outlook moving forwards remains positive in relation to all aspects of the business. Indeed despite these challenges, both the automotive and energy business units of Banner continued to perform well, and in particular in relation to continued high levels of product availability that Banner’s in-house production capability in Leonding is able to deliver.”
Banner anticipates a 2% annual growth in the lead-acid battery market over the next decade. Lee Quinney, Banner GB Country Manager, echoes this sentiment:
“The future for the UK aftermarket operation certainly looks a healthy one. In fact the last financial year saw Banner in the UK continue to achieve record growth in terms of sales and profitability, something we are looking to build on this year and beyond. Overall demand from the automotive sector continues to be buoyant, whilst sales in the CV, leisure and bike sectors are also expected to exceed forecasts. Once again this is largely attributable to not only the quality of Banner’s product offering, but also the strength of the brand at O/E level, and unprecedented levels of product availability,”
Banner remains committed to expansion through continued investments in:
- Production capacity expansion
- Office building modernisation
- Digitalisation and process improvements
Additionally, the company is dedicated to employee development by establishing a modern training workshop and launching its “Apprenticeships from 15” program by the end of 2024.
